The Willows Middle School Film Program, led by Middle School faculty member Brian Tousey, launched this fall with a focus on documentary filmmaking. Brian Weisbord, Alumni from the Class of 2008 and currently a junior at Chapman University's Dodge Film School, is working with the 8th grade class on their first project of the year, a documentary on a Washington D.C. monument or museum.
"We invited Brian Weisbord to share his knowledge of filmmaking with the class as they work on this first documentary, which is a prelude to our documentary of The Willows' 20 years," explains Film Class and 8th grade teacher Brian Tousey. "Students will research the museum or monument here, film in D.C. and then edit and finalize when they return."
"We are thrilled to have Brian Weisbord back on campus to share his time and talents with our students," says Head of School Lisa Rosenstein. "He is a great role model and really brings learning to life for our students. They see where Brian's interests and hard work are taking him, and see that their passions can be realized in the same way. Brian and all our alumni are continual sources of inspiration to all of us."
