When Malcolm Tunnell, alumnus from the Class of 2010 and current senior at Vistamar School, heard that The Willows fourth grade was visiting the California Science Center, where he volunteers as a tour guide, he wanted to be their guide.
Malcolm contacted fourth grade teacher Dakota Smith and asked if he could see if the Science Center would let him be their guide during the field trip. Dakota, of course, enthusiastically agreed, and Malcolm arranged with Vistamar to provide this community service for his alma mater. The fourth graders loved having their own personal tour guide and role model along on the field trip.
Malcolm’s “can-do” spirit and enthusiasm is representative of Willows alums. He will attend California State University, Monterey Bay in the fall.
