COVID-19 Pandemic Admissions Process

Middle School Process

1. Contact our Admissions Office

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our campus is closed with Distance Learning in operation, but the Admissions Office is open remotely!

We look forward to meeting you and your family and would like to reach out to you personally to answer any questions you may have at this time. Please complete our online inquiry form, and we will arrange a meeting with a member of our Admissions Department.

Due to the current restrictions that are in place, we will not be hosting any Spring 2020 tours or open houses.

2. Personal Tour

Instead of open houses, starting in the fall through December 2020, a member of our admissions team will host a personal tour for each applicant family. Tours will be by appointment only after the online application form is submitted. Once an application has been submitted, the Admissions Office will contact you to schedule your visit. Tours will be approximately one hour in length and held during the week on school days.

Additionally, our Head of School will host small group virtual meetings for applicant families.

Virtual meetings and visiting our school are beneficial components of our admissions process for parents, as well as for prospective students. A personal tour is a terrific opportunity to see The Willows in action –- you’ll visit our state-of-the-art facilities, observe classes in session, and hear directly from admissions about the school's program, philosophy and curriculum. Tours will be by appointment only.

If our current restrictions change during the 2020-2021 school year, we will hold open houses and other on-campus events for prospective parents and students. 6th–8th grade prospective students will also be able to participate in a “mini-day” at The Willows, attending four short classes that give them the feel for the school and its philosophy.

3. Complete an Online Application

Due to the current situation, we have reduced our application fee from $150 to $100. We are requesting that families complete the application before a tour is scheduled. Our online application will be available on July 15, 2020. The application deadline for the 2021-2022 school year for 6th-8th grade is January 15, 2022.

Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions you may have. We are here to help you through the admissions process!

4. Schedule Interviews for Parents and Student

Parents and children schedule their interviews for the same day. Parents meet with Kim Feldman, Director of Enrollment Management, to discuss their children, share information, and ask questions they may have about the school. At the same time, their child meets with a senior faculty member or administrator, for a one-on-one interview and an informal assessment.

5. Other Requirements

In addition to the application, we require the following materials (all found under supporting application forms):

  • Teacher Recommendation forms - must be sent directly to The Willows by the teacher completing the recommendation.
  • Student Information Release form
  • Middle School Student Questionnaire
  • Administrative Recommendation form - must be sent directly to The Willows by the administrator completing the recommendation.
  • Standardized tests - For admission to the 2021-2022 school year, we are not requiring that all students applying to the middle school complete the ISEE (Independent Secondary School Entrance Exam).
  • All forms are due no later than February 8th, 2021.
