A Community Where Students Thrive Academically, Socially, and Emotionally.

We want our students to live the credo: all things are possible. In order to do this, we strive to create a safe and nurturing atmosphere conducive to taking intellectual risks, independent thinking, experimenting, and dreaming. Our school culture, our flexible approach to innovation, and the beauty of our developmental kindergarten through eighth grade structure create a world where students are eager to learn and grow each and every day.
I have no doubt that the dedicated teaching and Willows style of education are the reason for my success at Harvard Westlake and I couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunities and experience that The Willows gave me!
~ Birdie Reynolds '24, Willows Alum, Current Harvard Westlake Student
The Curious Minds of The Willows
From DK to 8th: A Growth Story
A Balanced Progressive Approach to Education

DK Superheroes
The DK superhero unit symbolizes the lifetime journey of confidence and service that starts here at The Willows. Our DK students identify their own superpower and use those to solve problem and serve others.

1st Grade Circuits
At an early age, our students learn about electricity through squishy circuits, conductive dough, and small LED lights.

6th Grade Crime Scene Investigation & Mock Trial
In the forensics unit, students investigate a crime scene and step into the roles of lawyers, experts, witnesses, and suspects, culminating in a mock trial that brings the judicial system and forensic science to life.

Professional-Grade Weather Station
Across all grade levels, the weather station gives students hands-on experience with meteorology. The professional-grade Davis Vantage Pro 2 allows them to explore our environment and climate through real data, observation, and discovery.

4th Grade Robotics Moon's Orbit
Combining programming and astronomy, our 4th grade students program Ozobots, miniature robots, to experiment and uncover why the moon's orbit is elliptical.
The Educational Advantage of a DK-8 School
The Willows provided me with an outlet where I could take risks knowing that I had a community of people supporting me in my journey.
~ Alexandra Clayman '21, Willows Alum, Current NYU Student (Neural Science Major)
Teachers that Go Above and Beyond
47% of our teachers have taught at The Willows for 10 years or more.
